After almost two years with its doors closed due to the pandemic, Sitio dos Anjos resumes its activities with communities in line with the "Encyclical of Pope Francis, LAUDATO SÍ".
Even with the suspension of face-to-face activities by groups and communities during this period, Sítio dos Anjos did not stop. In addition to maintenance work, the new hostel is nearing completion.
The composting work with food leftovers collected from the favelas of São Paulo in partnership with the MDF – Movement for the Defense of the Favelado and “RECYCLANDO” continues in full swing, as well as the work with the organic garden, the result of composting and of the dedicated work of Terezinha, Juvenal, Edézio and João.
Another important activity was the Online Course on Composting and Permacultural Design offered by SESC - São Paulo – ABCDMRRS Connection in partnership with Sitio dos Anjos, which opened the doors for future projects on the site.
In the photos below, the resumption of in-person activities last October with the participation of the Favela Community in Haiti – SP and also with the matriarchs, the first women activists from the favelas in the East Zone of São Paulo. Under the coordination of Sister Ana, Terezinha and Getúlio. The groups deepened the issues of Laudato Sí in theory and in practice.
Below we see in the images, the moments of spirituality in the Chapel of Our Lady of Guadalupe with Sister Ana, Miguel Savietto (Lay Fraternity Charles de Foucauld) and the residents of the Haiti favela in São Paulo at the Laudato Sí Retreat.
For all this, we have a lot to thank God, those who, even in these times of pandemic, continued to fight for another possible world.
